racing

It is possible to treat the problems that arise as a result of the injury.

Treatment is based on 3 main principles with the following goals:

  • Prevent backflow of urine from the bladder to the kidneys
  • Prevent complications such as large amounts of residual urine or UTIs
  • Increase the quality of life by reducing urine leakage

These can be achieved through a combination of different treatments:

  • Catheterisation: ISC, indwelling catheter or suprapubic catheter
  • Pharmaceutical treatment
  • Surgical treatment
  • Pelvic training
