Mitrofanoff Support

Astra Tech are proud to sponsor a new website, Mitrofanoff Support. It is the first of its kind in providing advice and support specifically to adults who have a mitrofanoff. Its creator, Kyla Hooper, introduces the website and its aims:

“Mitrofanoffsupport.com is a website which has been set up for everybody with a bladder defect, or their family member, carer or friend.
Bladder defects are not openly discussed. Hence, there is a general lack of public knowledge regarding what it is like to have a Stoma.

Mitrofanoff Support started in early 2010. Its aim is to offer support and reassurance to anyone who may be about to have, or already has a Mitrofanoff, and their nearest and dearest. This is because it was felt there was not enough support and guidance out there for adults with Mitrofanoffs.

The primary role of Mitrofanoff Support is to represent the interests of people with a Mitrofanoff. The overriding aim is to raise awareness of what it is like to have a stoma and what it means to live with a Mitrofanoff. By doing this, we hope to address the general lack of public knowledge, present and future".
